Cards for team officials in 2019/20

The first season in which cards for team officials are shown by the referees is almost over in the most countries of the world. It is time to take stock, but it is not so easy to obtain data on the Internet and from the associations.

A statistic about the cards for team officials for 2019/20

My plan was to create overviews for the top European leagues: England, Italy, France, Germany and Spain, plus the two UEFA competitions (for both sexes, of course).

But the information is only available for the Bundesliga, the Prima División and the Primera Iberdrola (the Spanish league for female football players). The latter are even divided in an exemplary way into cards for players and against team officials, here as an example the game Atletico Madrid against Real Sociedad. Upon request to FIGC (Federazione Italiana Giuoco Calcio, 🇮🇹), FA, Premier League (🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿) and UEFA (🇪🇺) unfortunately did not receive any information and the DFB (Deutscher Fussball-Bund 🇩🇪) and FFF (Fédération Française de Football 🇫🇷) announced that this information is not offered.

For this reason the overview is limited to the three leagues mentioned above.

Why and when cards had to be introduced into football in the first place is described in this article.
